Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump Returned to ‘SNL’ and Botched an Alien Invasion (VIDEO)
Unfortunately, the commander-in-chief didn’t handle it all that well.
The alien invasion acted as the cold open for the show and jumps forward to the year 2018 when aliens from the planet Zorblatt 9 attack.
Though the sketch was about a fictional alien attack, the 58-year-old actor’s impersonation of the president was able to weave in jokes about real events.
When informed that even California was destroyed by the aliens, the 45th president asked if that meant Arnold Schwarzengger, who the 70-year-old is in a feud with, was gone too.
Similarly, when it’s announced that the Trump hotel is destroyed in an attack on New York City, one of the soldiers notes that no lives were lost because no one was staying there.
“That’s not true,” Alec said in his perfect imitation of the president’s voice. “Everyone loves to stay at my hotel. I’m sure a bunch of really top shelf and very classy people died there.”
The sketch even touched on the president’s ongoing issues with the media, specifically with NBC.
“This is Us?” he exclaims when one soldier mentions the words. “That is a great show but I can’t watch it because it’s on NBC and NBC has been very unfair to me.”
The opening for the show involved most of the SNL cast, including Pete Davidson, which marked his first appearance on the show since getting sober.
The 23-year-old also appeared on the “Weekend Update” as the “resident young person” where he really shined while giving his “First Impressions” of the president’s administrtion, such as House Speaker Paul Ryan.
“All the Republicans wanted Paul Ryan to come up with something to replace Obamacare, and now that he did, everybody hates it,” the comedian said.
“I know what this is like because for years, people have been asking me to quit drugs and get sober. And now that I have, everyone thinks I’m unfunny and boring.”
