Ali Fedotowsky Talks Wedding, Career Changes, and Starting a Family — Exclusive
In other words, we had a lot of catching up to do with Ali when Wetpaint spoke with her in NYC this week. The 31-year-old was hosting trivia night with Curve Fragrances for Men, a brand she says she’s loved since high school, adding, “I’m all about affordability.”
One thing that probably wasn’t so affordable, however, was the Season 6 star’s stunning 3-carat engagement ring, which Ali reveals she (sort of) chose herself! After trying out different styles, she sent a pic to Kevin, and lo and behold, it’s the one he used to pop the question!
“When I finally looked at it [after the romantic proposal], I screamed at the top of my lungs because I couldn’t believe it,” Ali gushes. “It’s more beautiful than I could ever have imagined.”
At first, the couple planned for a short engagement, setting a wedding date of January 17 — before realizing the world of stress they were entering.
“It’s way too short to plan a wedding — especially with Thanksgiving and Christmas right in the middle,” Ali reasons. “It was getting stressful and that’s the last thing we wanted it to be.”
Now, she and her future hubby are “doing it the right way” and taking it slow. She estimates they’ll probably set a new date for over a year from now, likely in 2017.
Once the wedding day does arrive, don’t expect to see Ali in anything too high fashion — she’s looking for any dress “I can wear with my Chucks or flats.” And initially, she was leaning toward a more Bohemian style, but while dress shopping, the more traditional gowns caught her eye.
Not much else has been planned for the nuptials yet, but in the meantime, the reality star has been keeping busy in her professional life. After exiting her correspondent gig over the summer, she has been dedicating all of her time to her blog, and in writing for the “affordable, attainable fashion for the everyday girl,” she may have found her calling.
“I’m loving doing that full-time,” Ali shares. “If I could start a family soon and be a stay-at-home mom, working from home, that would be amazing.”
