First Look at Tupac Shakur Biopic, ‘All Eyez on Me!’ (VIDEO)
In honor of what would have been Tupac Shakur’s 45th birthday, we’ve been gifted with a first look at the upcoming biopic about the late rapper.
Called All Eyez On Me, the film is set to chronicle the “California Love” singer’s rise to stardom as a hip-hop artist and actor, as well as his imprisonment and controversial stint at Death Row Records, where he was solidified as a linchpin in the East Coast/West Coast rap war that ultimately killed him.

The brief but loaded clip, which was posted to radio show Big Boy’s Neighborhood’s Instagram account, features a voiceover from The Walking Dead cast member Danai Gurira, who plays Tupac’s recently-deceased mother, Afeni.
“This ain’t just about you. Like all black men, you have a bullseye on your back. They are going to give you the tools that you need to destroy yourself,” the matriarch says as we see shots of a chanting crowd, an FBI raid, and the rapper performing onstage.

Tupac will be played by Demetrius Shipp Jr., who bears an uncanny resemblance to the Harlem native.
Danai’s TWD co-star Lauren Cohan, AKA Maggie Greene, is set to portray one of the rapper’s earliest mentors, Leila Steinberg, who was only 25 when she met the 17-year-old rapper at one of her workshops where she mentored kids.
