Andi Dorfman’s Bestie Kelly Travis on “Manipulative” Josh Murray
Who is Josh Murray really?
The Atlanta-based hunk managed to go from a Bachelorette 2014 winner to one of the franchise’s most controversial alums, no thanks to his portrayal in ex Andi Dorfman’s memoir and Bachelor in Paradise 4.
On one hand, we have Amanda’s friends like Lauren Bushnell and the Ferguson twins calling him out for being emotionally abusive, while his pals like Vinny Ventiera have defended him in the press.
Kelly was exposed to the 32-year-old early on in her pal’s love journey, as a guest judge on the Bachelorette’s group stripper date.
The fellow ATL native was sure to look out for him during the date, as Andi told her he was one of her favorites. And in doing so, she noticed something that “rubbed me the wrong way.”
“I’m watching him and he’s more worried about everyone paying him attention in the crowd than he is about Andi,” she recalls.
Still, she gave the Famously Single star a second chance when her friend Facetimed her from the Dominican to tell her she was engaged to him.
“At that point, I had to be happy for my friend because she’s smart and independent and I have to trust that she knows what she’s doing,” she states.
When they came back to Georgia after the proposal, Kelly admits she started to “see less of” the brunette beauty.
She remembers one girls’ dinner when Josh’s jealousy reared its ugly head.
The dog lover details, “We get there at 8, and by 9:30 he’s texting, ‘Why aren’t you home yet?’”
Apparently, the ex baseball and football player is “a bit of a hothead,” which contributed to the then-couple’s downfall.
“Andi’s very strong and sticks to her guns so if something’s bothering her, she’ll want to argue — she’s an attorney!” the 30-year-old notes.
She adds, “Whereas, he’s not really smart enough to have an intelligent argument or conversation.”
Kelly also thinks Josh shouldn’t be with someone who is “smarter than him,” because it “makes him feel like less of a man.”
That being said, she can see why there are people who like him.
“He’s very manipulative — everyone loves him at first,” she explains. “He’s good at making people like him initially.”
And, all of that being said, the Southern gal is sure to emphasize she has no personal beef with the guy.
"Josh has never done anything to me personally, it's just that he's done a lot of awful things to my very best friend,” she notes.
