Chris Soules Suing FarmersOnly.com For Mocking His Failed Relationship
Don’t mess with Prince Farming!
Well, the Season 19 star thought of that too, apparently, as he’s now suing the dating site for allegedly using his image without permission and “misappropriation of his right of publicity.”
The 34-year-old claims the company created a commercial using his appearance on Bachelor and his failed relationship with Whitney Bischoff to promote the service, according to legal docs obtained by TMZ.
Though the ad in question doesn’t actually show his face or name — it’s a silhouette of a cowboy in front of the Hollywood sign — Chris says it’s still pretty clear it’s him the narrator is talking about.
“Recently there was a TV show about a bachelor farmer in search of love,” he says in the commercial. “Well, Prince Farming got engaged to a girl from Chicago — not many farms in Chicago!
“Sorry it didn’t work out, Prince Farming, but when they paraded out all those city gals, I knew it was going to be a trainwreck.”
Pretty hard to argue when they’re using ABC’s actual “Prince Farming” and “bachelor” wording and alluding to Whitney’s hometown of Chicago!
The Dancing With the Stars alum is seeking all money made off this commercial, plus damages.
Should be interesting to see how this
pays plays out! Stay tuned to Wetpaint as this story develops.
