Vanessa Grimaldi Reveals Career Plans Post-‘Bachelor’ 2017 Engagement

Most of the time, when someone wins a Bachelor franchise show, they’re focused on wedding plans and potential spin-offs — not their career.

But not Bachelor 2017’s Vanessa Grimaldi, who aside from now being engaged to Nick Viall, has a pretty important job as a special education teacher in her hometown of Quebec.

The couple often disagreed over where they would live after the show, with Nick preferring the good ol’ US of A (his recent homestead of Los Angeles, more specifically), and Vanessa wanting to stay close to her tight-knit Canadian family.

Then, to our surprise, the 29-year-old gal hinted on After the Final Rose she was considering a move to L.A. while her future hubby is on Dancing With the Stars. Wait, what about her students?

Though she mentioned starting a charity on the live special, The Hollywood Reporter got more details on the endeavor — and their living situation — in an interview this week.

The couple explains they’re calling L.A. home “for the foreseeable future,” and the brunette beauty is working on getting a work visa. Still, she says she’s “waiting for the right moment” to book her ticket to Hollywood.

“I was willing to uproot and move to the United States for the relationship,” she details.

“My co-workers are very supportive about it, too.”

And while the former Bachelor is working on his dance moves for hours every day, she will have something to funnel her energy into.

She explains, “I'm working on a charitable organization, so I’m bringing a part of my life in Montreal to my new life here in the United States.”

While Vanessa’s fiancé may love the spotlight, don’t expect her to be dipping her toe into the acting game — even if she does have some history as a thespian.

Many questioned her intentions after discovering her old IMDb profile, but the tri-lingual gal says that chapter of her life is closed.

“It’s funny that I acted — barely acted — back in Montreal," she muses.

She concludes, "It was something that I tapped into in the summertime while I wasn’t working, since school goes from September to June, as a part-time thing for a very short amount of time.”
