Get to Know ‘Bachelorette’ 2017 Contestant Dean Unglert
But one guy we didn’t think would ever be a possibility out of the sea of 31 potential hubbies is Dean Unglert. Seems like we could be wrong, though!
There are a few reasons why, at first glance, the 26-year-old — though easy on the eyes — isn’t right for the Dallas lawyer.
First, he didn’t get off to a great start in the live Bachelor 2017 After the Final Rose.
You might remember the tech recruiter as one of the four men introduced to the Bachelorette on the special — more specifically, for his awkward (and cringeworthy) intro.
“I’m ready to go black and I’m never gonna go back,” he said at the time, sending Bachelor Nation into a collective groan.
Then, there was the report about his previous brush with the law back in 2011, when the then-college student was arrested for minor possession of alcohol and possession of a fake ID.
He was reported to be belligerent and “abusive” with police officers at the time, and later pled guilty to the charges.
He was sentenced to 12 months probation, as well as 24 hours of community service and $156 in fines — so not the worst or the best we’ve heard.
Aside from those two things, Dean’s age and lifestyle (as an L.A. resident) don’t really vibe with our powerhouse Bachelorette, but there are some positive signs, as well.
While he now lives in La La Land, the hunk hails from Aspen, Colorado, and graduated from University of Colorado with a business degree.
He now works as recruiter for tech recruiting company StartupTAP, which is also a little cooler than the basic “personal trainer” or “entrepreneur” title a lot of contestants are given.
Then, there’s the promising sign that, during the show’s trip to South Carolina this season, he snags a 1-on-1 date with Rach to a concert for country singer Russell Dickerson.
The two showed a bunch of PDA during the performance, which proves they at least have some solid physical chemistry.
So time will tell on this one! At the very least, we’re feeling some serious Bachelor in Paradise potential.
