Ben Higgins & Lauren Bushnell Aren’t Done With Reality TV Just Yet

We’ve long suspected Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? wouldn’t be Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell’s only entry into the post-Bachelor reality show game.

And the couple all but confirmed that fact during a recent interview, where they hinted at future TV projects — albeit, some a bit different than what we’ve seen them do so far.

“I don’t know if we’ll be able to step out of [reality TV],” Ben tells Channel 33’s Bachelor Party podcast, adding, “I don’t know if I necessarily want to.”

However, the former Bachelor and his fiancée are planning to be a bit more discretionary about the “context” of their next show — namely, it couldn’t be something like their current Freeform series that puts their relationship front and center.

The 27-year-old reasons, “Now [with Ben & Lauren], the only judgment people can have when they watch the show is our relationship. I think that context is something we may want to change up or not put so much weight on that.”

Sounds like that could mean a turn into something about their professional lives over personal, as Jillian Harris did with her HGTV show or Ali Fedotowsky did as an E! News correspondent. Either way, it won’t be for forever — whatever the project.

“I don’t know if reality television will be something we’ll do for 20 more years,” he states.

Whatever the future holds, you will likely see more of a “normal” or “human” side to the Denver hunk than what you saw on Bachelor.

“I was bland. I was very bland. Just like very cookie cutter, go in there, do it well, do it right. Find the perfect girl, walk away,” he gripes.

“And I wish they would have shown a little bit of an edge. I don’t know if I have a huge edge, but a little bit of humor.”

Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
