Will Ben Higgins or Lauren Bushnell Join ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ 4 Post-Split?
Most people take at least a few months post-breakup to start dating again — but Bachelor stars are not “most people.”
We’re talking about a franchise where people fall in love and get engaged within three months, so it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell to get back on the horse, right?
The Bachelor 2016 lovebirds announced the end of their 18-month engagement on Monday via a joint statement.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways,” it began.
The statement continued, “We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another.”
But while the split might come as a shock to some fans of the Season 20 pair, they’ve also been fighting off rumors of relationship trouble for months.
That’s why some have wondered if either Ben or Lauren will show up on the upcoming Bachelor in Paradise Season 4, which begins filming in about a month.
Sadly, it sounds like it might be too soon for all of that — even for reality stars.
“Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell will both be asked to be a part of Bachelor in Paradise in the future, but it is clearly way too early for those discussions to be made,” a source details to HollywoodLife.com.
“It would be in bad taste if the show asked now with the breakup so fresh on each other’s minds.”
Judging by this insider, producers might even be holding out for a potential reconciliation between the two. Either way, they want the dust to settle a bit first.
“They just want this to run its course before they attempt to get them for the show,” the source adds.
Probably for the best, considering the former Bachelor might not be over his ex-fiancée just yet.
After all, it was just last week that the Denver hunk was gushing about Lauren and defending her against “haters” on social media.
“Ben loves Lauren, no question about it, but he didn’t want to rush into marriage,” another insider tells the site.
Apparently, marriage was something the 28-year-old was looking for, he just didn’t want to “be rushed,” as he only wants to do it once.
“He wanted to continue building on their relationship before walking down the aisle,” the source states.
“Needless to say, he’s absolutely heartbroken.”
And we’re sure he’ll bounce back! Maybe BIP Season 5?
