Ben Higgins & Lauren Bushnell’s TV Wedding Is a Go — After Some Debate
Set your DVRs — a LaurBen wedding special is in the works!
In fact, it was the Bachelor himself who was pretty opposed to the idea when Chris Harrison initially presented it to the couple.
As the longtime host — and go-to wedding officiant of Bachelor couples — explained, “everybody wants to continue to watch this love story unfold,” so ABC is offering them a “big checkbook and a wedding planner to give them the wedding of their dreams “on steroids.”
While Lauren’s wide-eyed response indicated she was all-in on this plan, her fiancé seemed much less enthused.
“My stomach’s dropped, I have butterflies, my head’s spinning. It’s a lot. Really soon,” he told the cameras.
He added the sped-up timeline was a big factor, “It makes me nervous, I’ll be honest. Everything’s been so quick.”
This obviously concerned his future wife, who saw this as possible cold feet about getting married at all. So, of course, she did what any gal in a crisis would do: She turned to her sister Mollie for advice.
The elder Bushnell didn’t help too much, but it was clear LaurBen needed to have a talk. It also seemed like Ben calmed down a bit after chatting with his recently-engaged and married pals, who just so happen to play for the Denver Broncos.
Finally, the two came face-to-face at lunch, where the flight attendant confronted her man about looking “completely overwhelmed” during their meeting with Chris. The Denver hunk then assured her it wasn’t about him being conflicted about getting married, but simply the timing.
“I want to make sure it’s about us. About our family and friends,” he explained.
However, it sounds like that’ll just have to be a risk they take, as Mr. Higgins is on-board for the “10 million” extra wedding guests they’ll be having.
He concluded, “I want to do it. I want the world to see that we will be spending forever together.”
So this is happening, guys. Now it’s just a matter of whether they will save it for Valentine’s Day like the Janner shindig, or go more toward Bachelor premiere time like SeanCat’s January affair. Stay tuned!
