Ben Higgins & Lauren Bushnell’s Wedding Is “Back On” (UPDATE)

UPDATE (11/30/16 at 12:30 p.m. ET):

Well, that didn’t take long — Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell’s wedding is “back on”!

The most low-stakes cliffhanger ever was resolved during last night’s Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After finale, during the couple’s combined (non) bachelor party in Las Vegas.

All it took was a montage of moments from their love story to turn the tides!

The video, including clips from the moment they met up to the present, spurred Ben to ask his fiancée to meet at the top of the Skyfall Lounge, overlooking the Vegas strip.

There, he gushed to his future wife, “I never thought for a second I could live a day without you. Lauren, I’m gonna be your husband. Lauren, you’re gonna be Mrs. Higgins.”

Wait, does this mean he’s finally ready to tie the knot?

Lauren was clearly wondering this, too, as she asked him directly, “Does this mean the wedding is back on?”

“Of course it is,” the Bachelor replied.

So there you have it — they’re still getting married, just like everyone suspected. Though how soon is still a question...

UPDATE (11/16/16 at 2:30 p.m. ET):

When Lauren Bushnell and Ben Higgins called off their wedding in last night’s Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After, we chalked it up to reality TV drama.

But it sounds like this wasn’t just something to drum up publicity for the Freeform reality series, which has been struggling in the ratings.

In fact, the Bachelor 2016 couple’s pals Emily and Haley Ferguson say they don’t think a wedding will happen “anytime soon”!

“I think Ben and Lauren will get married when they're ready,” Emily tells Us Weekly.

“I think right now they need some time to just get to know each other outside of the cameras and outside of the spotlight, just kind of do their own thing,” she continues. “So I think it will take some time.”

And the bubbly blonde’s twin concurs.

Haley reasons, “I think Ben and Lauren will for sure get married eventually — I just don't think it will be anytime soon.”

Meanwhile, other sources are claiming the couple’s relationship really crumbled after their spin-off “flopped.”

“They were banking on it being a huge hit and it completely flopped,” an insider tells Life & Style. “After that, Lauren told Ben she’d had it with their relationship.”

Though it seems unlikely that one failed TV show would ruin an engagement, we do understand how the cancellation of their series (which is said to already have happened) could take its toll.

Anyone who follows LaurBen on social media can see they still seem pretty happy together, but this source is saying they are just waiting to announce their split once the show’s finale airs.

Guess time will tell!

Original Story (11/15/16 at 12:00 p.m. ET)

Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell got their happy ending on Bachelor 2016, but things might not end so happily on their spin-off.

That is, if those often-tricky editors for Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? can be trusted.

A new sneak peek for tonight’s two-hour episode sure makes it look like the LaurBen wedding is off!

But before we get to all of that, there are a few lighthearted moments in the clip, which teases yet another appearance by Emily and Haley Ferguson, of course.

The twins seem to be involved in the couple’s trip to Vegas — the bubbly blondes’ own hometown. What could go wrong there, right?

Well, maybe nothing yet. Those gals are always showing up and bringing comic relief to the couple’s new life together.

And there’s still another Bachelor Nation cameo to be had. After joining the future Mr. and Mrs. Higgins (and others) on a camping trip earlier in the season, Lace Morris and Grant Kemp will show up again, though it’s unclear in what capacity.

Finally, it’s time for the heavy stuff, which kicks off in a couples counseling session.

In the video, we see Ben in the midst of therapy, breaking some bad news to his bride-to-be.

“I think you’re ready to start a life,” he begins. “I’m not ready for that — not even close.”

Wait, what?! Plus, that’s not even all of it!

A later scene also shows them sitting outside, with the Portland gal on the verge of tears.

“So you’re saying the wedding is off?” she says, choking up.

“Yeah, I am," he replies.

OK, we’re fully confused. These two seemed happy as clams last we checked — if not a bit overwhelmed by all the planning. What happened?
