Lauren Bushnell & Ben Higgins Don’t Love How They Come Off on TV
Don’t believe everything you see.
More specifically, they’re not too pleased with the way the show has edited the newly engaged couple’s relationship in the first couple of episodes.
“Yeah, [the show's edit is] not always fair, and we'll watch it and be like, 'It’s not like that!'” Ben tells Us Weekly.
But the Denver hunk has had it easy compared to his future wife, who took heat from fans who saw her wariness over reuniting with JoJo as a sign of insecurity in her relationship.
“I think people were like, ‘Oh, gosh, Lauren, you were so confident on The Bachelor, and now you come off as insecure,’” she starts.
“I am a human being at the end of the day. I’m no different! I have struggles. I have insecurities. Ben and I have struggles.”
And their issues don’t stop at how they’re portrayed as a couple. In fact, he doesn’t think fans have seen the true Ben or Lauren on the show so far — though he hopes that will change in the coming episodes.
“I am excited for them to see Lauren’s funny side, her goofy side,” he explains, adding, “I’m excited for them to see my side that’s not as bland and vanilla. Because that’s us!”
We’re looking forward to it, too, guys!
