The hip-hop power couple posed for paparazzi in an elevator last night, December 4, in NYC, bringing back memories from their infamous 2014 elevator fight with Solange.
But this time, the duo was all smiles!
Noone will ever forget the biggest headline from the 2014 Met Gala — video footage surfaced in which Solange yelled and then lunged at her brother-in-law in The Standard Hotel's elevator.
Security had to intervene, and Bey herself tried to separate her husband and her sister.
And though the incident was hush hush for years after it happened, both parties eventually opened up about the scuffle when they were ready.
“We had one disagreement ever. Before and after we’ve been cool,” Shawn Carter said in an August 2017 interview with Rap Radar, his first time ever discussing the elevator fight publicly.
“[Solange] is like my sister. I will protect her. That’s my sister, not my sister-in-law. My sister. Period. …We’ve always had a great relationship.”
The rapper also alluded to the incident on his new album, 4:44, while Bey made note of it on her self-titled 2013 record.
"Of course shit goes down when there's a billion dollars on an elevator," she crooned on the Nicki Minaj remix of her hit, "Flawless."
But this time, there's no yelling, kicking, or screaming to be had.
The parents of three looked happy as can be this time at the Angelika Film Center in New York City, where Bey rented out a theater for a private showing of Wonder Wheel for her hubby's 48th birthday on December 4, People reports.
The A-listers hammed it up for the cameras both in and out of the elevator.
The 36-year-old looked stunning in a patterned dress, bright purple lips and a blue fur coat, while her hubs looked put together AF in a burgundy suit with gold chains.
Not quite as dolled up as they looked on Met Gala night, but at least this night out had a way better ending!
