2016 Billboard Music Awards: Britney Spears Opens Show With Medley of Greatest Hits (VIDEO)
Britney Spears kicked off the 2016 Billboard Music Awards with a major bang — and a stroll down memory lane.
The legendary pop star opened up tonight’s live show from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas by performing a medley of her greatest hits spanning her almost two-decades-long career, including “Work B—ch,” “Toxic,” and “I'm a Slave 4 U.”
She wore a sequined red bikini with knee-high boots while on stage and performed with a bevy of backup dancers, with whom she’s been rehearsing all week. The hard work paid off, guys!
And Brit and her team didn’t have to go far from home for the big show. She’s currently in residency on the Vegas strip with her show Britney: Piece of Me at Planet Hollywood.
Though we appreciated all the nostalgia Brit’s performance brought, we’re upset we didn’t get a tease of her upcoming single, “Make Me (Ooh),” which now reportedly won’t get released until the summer due to some technical difficulties. Boo!
But on the plus side, the 34-year-old will be getting a huge honor later on tonight when she accepts the coveted Millennial Award. Past recipients of the award include Beyoncé and Whitney Houston, among other legends.
The mom of two also just launched her first-ever game, “Britney Spears: American Dream,” with Glu, the same company behind Kim Kardashian’s uber-successful mobile game. So yeah, we’d say that helps Brit live up to her “millennial” title in more ways than one.
