Jim Carrey Responds to Accusations He Gave Late Girlfriend STDs (UPDATE)
UPDATE (9/23/2016 at 6:00 p.m. ET):
Earlier today, the husband of Cathriona White accused his late wife’s boyfriend Jim Carrey of causing her suicide by giving the woman three STDs.
Now Jim has responded to Mark Burton’s disturbing allegations.
"Is this the way a 'husband' honors the memory of his 'wife?'” the 53-year-old says, according to TMZ. “The real disease here is greed, shameful greed!"
Take a look below for details on all the awful rumors lobbied against Jim in Mark’s wrongful death lawsuit.
Original Story (9/23/2016 at 10:20 a.m. ET):
The Mask star has been accused of giving his late girlfriend Cathriona White — who committed suicide in September 2015 — three sexually transmitted diseases.
Mark says Cathriona went for an STD test in 2013 and was diagnosed with herpes type 1, herpes type 2, and Gonorrhea, the Daily Mail writes.
Cathriona believed Jim had transmitted the trio of diseases to her, as he allegedly had sex with the Ireland native without telling her about the health risk.
Although it doesn’t sound like Jim technically confirmed his girlfriend’s suspicions, he did reportedly “pressure her to keep quiet about it.”
The comedian “manipulated” and “threatened” the makeup artist by using “handlers and attorneys to silence her,” insiders allege.
All of the stress supposedly led Cat to pen a heartbreaking letter to Jim after their final breakup where she explained it would be impossible to find a new partner due to her STDs.
The herpes virus stays in the body forever, whether or not symptoms flare up.
That likely explains why it’s believed the Irish beauty sadly called herself “damaged goods” before taking her own life.
Although Jim hasn’t responded to these latest disturbing allegations, the actor did call Mark’s lawsuit a “heartless attempt to exploit” Cathriona’s death.
