Chris Brown on the Night He Beat Rihanna: “I Felt Like a F—king Monster” (VIDEO)
Let's rewind to 2009 when their physical altercation was splashed across headlines after the “Umbrella” songstress filed a police report against her then-boyfriend.
Photos of the incident were leaked and showed the Barbados native battered and bruised.
Now, the “Forever” hitmaker is speaking out about the fight and the events that lead up to the horrifying altercation in his new documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life.
The father of one reveals things started turning bad for the couple after he admitted to having sexual relations with someone who used to work for him.
"She [Rihanna] hated me. After that, I tried everything. She didn't care, she just didn't trust me after that,” he shares in a clip.
“From there, it just went downhill because it would be fights, it would be verbal fights, physical fights as well.”
Though he still loved the singer, it was clear their relationship was not healthy.
"I still love Rihanna, but I'm just going to be honest — we would fight each other, she would hit me, I would hit her, but it never was OK,” he continues.
“It was always a point to where we talk about it like, ‘What the f—k are we doing?'"
As for what transpired the evening of the pre-Grammys Clive Davis party in 2009, the 28-year-old reveals the woman he had been involved with was also at the event, which didn’t sit well with RiRi.
"I look over at Rihanna and she's bawling, she's crying,” he says.
Then, on their way home from the party, things became very physical.
"I remember she tried to kick me, just like her beating s—t, but then I really hit her. With a closed fist, like I punched her and it busted her lip,” he confesses.
“And when I saw it I was in shock, I was like, f—k why did I hit her like that?"
He continues, "From there she's spitting blood in my face, it raised me even more. It's a real fight in the car and we were driving in the street…She tried to grab for my phone, and I'm not giving her my phone, to throw it out the window."
Following the violence, the “Fine China” singer “felt like a f—king monster."
The pair rekindled their tumultuous relationship in 2013, but eventually decided to part ways.
