Chris Soules Spotted Out in Public For First Time Since Fatal Car Crash (PHOTO)

Nearly a month since Chris Soules was put in handcuffs for fleeing the scene of a fatal car crash, the former Bachelor was spotted out and about.

On Wednesday, May 17, the reality star was seen wandering around Oelwein, Iowa, and where he was at exactly might shock fans.

The ABC star, who was arrested on April 24 for a hit-and-run involving the death of a man, was oddly spotted at an O'Reilly Auto Parts in the midwestern town.

The appearance was the first time the dating show alum was seen in public since his court appearance on April 25, a day after his accident.

At the car parts shop, the 35-year-old was quickly recognized by an employee who chatted him up before taking a selfie together.

The fan, who posted the shot to Instagram with the caption, "My sweet customer today," admitted in the comments that she was unaware that Andi Dorfman's ex was staying out of the spotlight, otherwise she would have not publicized his spotting.

"If I knew people thought he was in 'hiding,' I would have never posted his picture. I am so sorry, Chris," she commented.

Fans of the Dancing With the Stars alum quickly flooded the comments to point out how stressed-out Chris looked since his arrest.

The star, who pled not guilty last week to fleeing the scene of a fatal car crash, sported a tattered hoodie with and disheveled facial hair.

One fan even mentioned that Chris looked "so skinny" compared to his usual buff self.

The O'Reilly Auto Parts employee who spotted The Bachelor alum also came under fire for fawning over an alleged criminal.

She defended herself in an emotional Facebook video, where she preached love and compassion for the reality star.

"This is a kind-hearted man. He is a farmer. I was able to let him know that I pray for him and that meant a lot to me. I just wanted to tell him that and I got the opportunity finally," she said.

Chris's arraignment will be on July 11 at 9:30 a.m. in a court in Buchanan County, Iowa where the accident took place.
