Julie Plec’s New Show ‘Containment’ Finally Gets Premiere Date!

Rejoice, CW fans — we finally have a premiere date for Julie Plec’s new venture, Containment.

Last year the network picked up the Vampire Diaries and The Originals boss’s pilot to series and now fans can mark Tuesday, April 19, at 9 p.m. ET on their calendar for the premiere.

Based off a Belgian show Cordon — what Containment was originally titled — this show is set in Atlanta and follows a health epidemic. Officials try to stop the spread of the virus and end up quarantining people while searching for a cure.

We’ll see some familiar faces from Julie’s world on Containment as former TVD villain Chris Wood stars as Jake Riley and The Originals baddie Claudia Black plays Sabine Lommers.

The drama, which went to last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, might feel like The Walking Dead in some ways but Chris notes there’s nothing supernatural about this show.
