Courtney Stodden Opens Up About Miscarriage in PETA Campaign (VIDEO)
Courtney Stodden is using her voice to protect captive orcas and share her own personal experience with loss.
The reality star teamed up with PETA for a campaign against SeaWorld and told the story of Corky, an orca who lost her seven children due to life in captivity.
Sadly, the 22-year-old can relate somewhat to the devastation because she and husband Doug Hutchinson suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage in July.
“The feeling of losing a child is one that no mother should ever have to experience,” she says in the emotional video.
"That's why it breaks my heart to think of Corky — an orca who has lost all seven of her babies, the last of whom was found floating lifeless at the bottom of a tank at SeaWorld."
The Couples Therapy star and her husband, who have been married since 2011, have always had a rocky relationship, but since the miscarriage their marriage has taken a hit.
“Corky has endured the loss of family eight times, starting when she was forcibly taken from the ocean from her mother and sold into captivity when she was very young,” she continues in the video.
"SeaWorld, take it from someone who has experienced great personal loss. Corky has suffered enough. Please, do the right thing and let her go home. The time is now."
Such sad news!
