Vanessa Lachey on Maks Chmerkovskiy: “He’s My Coach and I’m the Student” (UPDATE)
UPDATE (10/4/17 at 9:43 a.m. ET):
Vanessa Lachey is speaking out after rumors of a feud between the 36-year-old and partner Maks Chmerkovskiy ran rampant earlier this week.
While in the ballroom, the mother of three is learning to listen to the pro dancer.
“I just know that when I'm on set he's my coach and I'm the student, so I listen a lot more and I don't speak up as much because this is a field I don't know,” she told Us Weekly.
“He's trained me and taught me so many amazing wonderful new things just like any trainer would or teacher would.”

UPDATE (10/03/2017 at 16:46 p.m. ET): After missing out on last night's show, Maks Chmerkovskiy tweeted today that he will, in fact, be back next week — despite earlier reports he was boycotting the show due to partner Vanessa Lachy's diva demands.
But according to reports, this wasn't a decision the pro dancer made himself.
Sources are saying that Dancing With the Stars execs threatened to fire Maks if he didn't return to the show.
“If Maks doesn’t return to the show by next week to dance with Vanessa, he will be fired,” a DWTS insider told Radar Online.
“Vanessa can practice and rehearse with a different partner this week, but Maks must be on the ball room floor.”
ORIGINAL STORY (10/03/2017 at 10:33 a.m. ET): Vanessa Lachey may be too much of a diva for Maks Chmerkovskiy.
The Dancing With the Stars pro skipped out on his performance last night due to “personal issues,” but some fans wonder if his problem is actually with his partner.
Though the pair appear to be good friends on the show, some sources believe the father of one is done dancing with the TV host for good.
In fact, according to Radar Online, the 36-year-old’s diva behavior has gotten out of control.
“Vanessa is the boss and likes submissive men that do what she tells them to do,” a source revealed.
“She wants to choreograph her own dances, select her own music and even design her own costumes.”
The 37-year-old pro, on the other hand, isn’t such a big fan of being told what to do.
“Vanessa thinks she’s the pro and the star and doesn’t want a partner – she wants an employee who does what she says,” the source continued.
“Maks is done with her and might not return to the ballroom.”
No Maks, you must come back!
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time diva rumors have been associated with the mother of three on the set of DWTS.
Just a few weeks ago other sources claimed the former TRL host was causing serious problems for the cast and crew.
“Vanessa’s ego is just through the roof,” another source revealed.
“She acts like she is this huge celebrity, and is really just a big diva!”
Some even believe she is jealous of her husband Nick Lachey’s close relationship with his partner, Peta Murgatroyd, who happens to be married to Maks.
Because of Maks’s absence, pro dancer Alan Bersten filled in and partnered with Vanessa.
