‘DWTS’ Tour Bus Involved in Fatal Multiple-Vehicle Car Crash in Iowa

A Dancing With the Stars: Live! Light Up the Night tour bus was involved in a fatal multiple-vehicle accident earlier this week.

The bus, which was traveling through a snowstorm in Ames, Iowa, was just one of 50 vehicles on I-35 involved.

The crash took place around noon on Monday, February 5.

According to the Iowa State Patrol one person died in the crash and five people were critically injured.

Thankfully nobody on the DWTS bus was seriously injured, but some are recovering from minor injuries.

"One of the Dancing with the Stars tour buses heading to Ames for a performance tonight was involved in the 70+ vehicle pileup on I-35 southbound,” Hannah Hilyard of KCCI tweeted.

“Cast and crew members are okay — some recovering from minor injuries. Their show is cancelled for tonight."

Then, a spokesperson for DWTS released a statement about the situation.

"One of the tour buses transporting cast and crew of Dancing with the Stars: Live! Light Up The Night was involved in a multi-car accident this afternoon due to bad weather while en route to Ames, Iowa,” the statement read.

“All cast and crew members are fine, with some recovering from minor injuries."

Though everyone’s OK, they felt it best to cancel the show so people could recover.

“Given this unforeseen accident, and the fact that the safety and health of our cast and crew is of the utmost importance, tonight's show at Stephens Auditorium in Ames, IA has been cancelled,” the statement continued.

“To anyone involved in the accident, the entire cast sends their best wishes for a speedy recovery, and their deepest apologies to all of the fans who have been waiting to see the show tonight."

The tour features celebs including Jordan Fisher and Frankie Muniz, as well as pro dancers Sharna Burgess, Lindsay Arnold, Alan Bersten, and many others.

We hope you are all recovering and staying safe!
