‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6: Areo Hotah Returning!

Game of Thrones has added a few new characters for Season 6, most notably Theon Greyjoy’s pirate uncle Euron, but what about all of the new faces introduced in Season 5? How many of them will be back? Well, we know at least one season fiver who’s returning to the show: Areo Hotah, Captain of the Dornish Guard.

NEWS: Jason Momoa Lands Thrilling New Film Role

Actor DeObia Oparei recently revealed that he’ll be back next year, but once again in a limited role.

DeObia confirmed the news to Zap2it, and we're not sure how to feel. While we have no problem with Hotah, his presence suggests more of the heavily-criticized Dornish storyline from Season 5. In fact, DeObia all but confirms that Ellaria Sand, Trystane Martell, and the dreaded Sand Snakes are all back for another go-round in Season 6.

Although we weren’t big on the Dornish plot last season, DeObia believes it could add some drama to Season 6. “What are they going to do with [Trystane]? Are they going to kill him?” Oparei asks.

“What’s going to happen to him, and then how does that impact Dorne?" he continues. "Is there going to be war, because our boy’s on that boat sailing into danger?”

The one Dornish character DeObia doesn’t mention is also the one whom we’d most like to see come back. Alexander Siddig was excellent as Doran Martell, even though his character was somewhat neutered and didn’t do much.

Here’s hoping that Doran and the Martells actually make some noise in Season 6 to justify their presence... Maybe even allowing Hotah to finally use his axe. “I hope that [the axe]’s going to be utilized in the new season,” Oparei says. Us, too.
