Jada Pinkett-Smith Responds to Chris Rock’s Oscar Joke About Her (VIDEO)
Oscars 2016 was plagued with criticism due to the lack of diversity among its nominees, which sparked an ongoing debate about diversity in the film industry.
Jada Pinkett-Smith was at the forefront of the debate, and her decision to boycott the event became the basis of a joke made by the award show’s host, Chris Rock.
During his opening monologue, the Top 5 actor quipped, “Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna's panties — I wasn't invited!”
While some thought the 51-year-old comedian’s joke was funny, others — namely Tyrese — felt the joke was insensitive, calling out the funny man for being “tasteless.”
Despite his reprimand, it doesn’t seem everyone shares the same sentiment as the actor and model, including the the 44-year-old mother of two.
ET Online asked Jada what she thought of the diss and she merely responded, “Hey look, it comes with the territory but we gotta keep it moving. We gotta keep it moving. We gotta keep it moving.”
The Gotham star continued, “There’s a lot of stuff we gotta handle, a lot of stuff in our world right now. We gotta keep it moving.”
Looks like Jada’s mind is set on more important things and she won’t be calling for a Chris Rock boycott anytime soon.
Way to keep it classy!
