Janet Jackson is pulling no punches when it comes to making her grand return to the music front. After alerting fans that she’ll be returning to the industry with a new album and her Unbreakable world tour — her first world tour in years, the music icon just dropped the first single from her forthcoming album.

The track entitled “No Sleeep” gives us quintessential Janet: It has a solid beat, it’s sexy without doing too much, and it’s got just enough uptempo to provide the 49-year-old vocalist with solid choreography. Oh, and did we mention that Janet’s vocals are as strong as ever? Yes, Janet. Yes.

Janet dropped the single in the same manner she’s been releasing quite a bit of her news today: on Twitter.

We have to say we’re pleasantly surprised. Janet recently posted a snippet of new music to her Twitter account recently, prompting many fans (ourselves included) to believe that it would be her lead track off the upcoming album. Looks like that may have just been an interlude.

And this single couldn’t have come at a better time. According to Page Six, it’s rumored that Janet will be honored at the BET Awards 2015 this June 28 and a source goes on to say that we can expect a tribute done by dancing queen herself, Ciara.

“Janet’s known for her dancing, so expect a lot of dancing,” said the source.

No word as to whether Janet will perform but, if Janet does make an appearance, it’ll be the first time she’ll be seen at a major television event in three years. Janet’s last appeared at the 2009 BET Awards to pay homage to her brother, Michael Jackson, who has passed three days before on June 25.

If Janet is making a stop to the BET Awards 2015 we wouldn’t be surprised — the music legend was recently spotted at LAX airport just a little over a week ago, which means she’s definitely in the area to pop by!
