UPDATE (1/4/18 at 11:19 a.m. ET):

Arie Luyendyk Jr is hitting back at his former BFF Jef Holm.

After the 35-year-old slammed the current Bachelor, the Season 22 leading man has decided to take the high road.

"[He's] throwing a lot of shade, but we haven’t talked in four years since Sean [Lowe’s] wedding," he said on Access Hollywood.

“I have no clue [why Jef is bitter]. That’s kind of a question for him more than me.”

He continued, “I have so much to concentrate on with this and I’m just trying to stay positive. I’m just concentrating on me.”

Jef Holm is betting against Arie Luyendyk Jr.

The Bachelorette alum, who had a serious falling out with Arie, doesn’t believe the Season 22 leading man’s relationship will last.

In fact, he’s betting the Bachelor’s new romance won’t last more than a year.

The Bachelorette Season 8 winner shared his thoughts on Twitter Monday, January 1.

“Doesn’t matter who gets out of the limo…I’ll give 5k to the charity of @chrisbharrison’s choice if @ariejr lasts 1 year with anyone,” he wrote.

Jef and Arie were the final two on Emily Maynard’s season of the hit ABC reality series.

The 35-year-old took a dig at Arie shortly after it was revealed he’d be the new Bachelor back in September.

“Oh the stories I could tell…” he tweeted.

When a social media user pointed out Jef was allegedly Arie’s wingman in sorority houses following their time on The Bachelorette, he quickly shot the rumors down.

“I've actually never even been inside a sorority house,” he responded.

“As for him...I stopped being friends with him years ago because he's disgusting.”

Despite Jef’s distaste, Emily is happy Arie is getting a new chance at love.

“I can’t think of a better person to be The Bachelor than Arie and I’ve been hoping this day would come since Season 8 ended!” she told Us Weekly.

“He’s a gentleman through and through and all the girls on his season are lucky to have him.”

She continued, “I’ll be wishing him nothing but the best because that’s absolutely what he deserves!”
