Barbara Evans Reacts to Jenelle’s 911 Call: “I Did Not Hit Jace!” (UPDATE)
UPDATE (12/15/17 at 11:02 a.m. ET):
Barbara Evans is, unsurprisingly, refuting her daughter's claims that she's abusive towards Jace.
But Babs tells an entirely different story.
Jace's grandma insists she was shocked when the cops showed up to her home, and that the 8-year-old told them "no, my grandmother didn't hit me."
"Jace had been having a meltdown. He has ADHD and his medication was starting to wear off. He was just so upset, throwing toys at me and kicking the walls," she tells Radar Online.
“By the time the police came he was calm. I told them he’s having a meltdown. His ADHD medicine wears off at night. I showed them the medicine and told them this is starting to kick in.”
Babs also claims her daughter only called the cops for the sake of creating drama on the show.
“The officer said to me ‘This is just another thing with Jenelle and her drama," she adds.
"She is just trying to get ratings up for MTV. They know what she is all about.”
And the Wal-Mart worker throws in one last jab for good measure.
“Jenelle needs to start parenting. I tell her these things and she doesn’t believe it."

Original story (12/8/17 at 9:52 a.m. ET):
The Teen Mom 2 star called the police on her mom Barbara Evans last week after claiming her son Jace told her Barbara was allegedly hitting him and being abusive.
And there's chilling audio to back up these claims.
As TM2 fans know, Jace, now 8, has been living with Barbara since he was a baby when Jenelle was on drugs and in no place to raise a child on her own.
Though she's since gotten sober and settled into a stable life (and marriage!), she was denied her ask to regain full custody of her son when she and her mom went to court in May, though she was granted more time with him.
As a result of the judge's decision, Jenelle has basically cut off all ties with her mom until she gives her her son back — she didn't even invite her to her September wedding to David Eason!
And now the cops have gotten involved.
In a 911 call placed on November 30, the 25-year-old told the operator that her son called her to say that Meme, his grandma, was hitting him.
“My son called me crying his eyes out and saying that my mother is actually hitting him and he’s huffing and puffing and he can’t breathe,” she told Boiling Spring Lakes Police, according to Radar Online.
“He said ‘Meme hit me, Meme hit me.’ We call grandmother Meme.”
Meanwhile, Jenelle could hear her mom talking to Jace in the background when the boy called her, but Babs didn't realize her daughter was listening in.
“She's also saying stuff like get out of the house, leave the house. You need to leave and never come back,’” Jenelle added.
“She doesn’t even know that I’m still on the phone."
“My son is screaming for me in the background and she will not give him the phone or answer my phone calls," she told the operator at the end of the call.
From there, the Read Between the Lines author was told someone would go to Babs's house to investigate.
The police report later said there was "no need to check" on the situation, so it's unclear exactly what happened next. Hopefully we'll see it all go down on the upcoming Season 8B of Teen Mom 2!
However, we wouldn't be too surprised if Jenelle begged producers to keep this drama off-camera, much like she reportedly did when CPS investigated her home after daughter Ensley tested positive for THC at her January 2017 birth.
We can conclude, though, that Babs still has custody of her grandson, as she posted this photo of Jace with Santa while Jenelle accompanied David to his daughter Maryssa's cheer competition in Florida:
We're pretty intrigued to see what unfolds next!
Do you think Babs was really abusive towards Jace? Will this police call make it onto the show or be kept private? Tell us what you're thinking in the comments.
