Here’s Why Sammi Sweetheart Isn’t Joining ‘Jersey Shore’ Reunion Show (UPDATE)

UPDATE (11/29/17 at 8:23 a.m. ET):

Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola is not interested in reuniting with her ex-boyfriend Ronnie Ortiz-Magro on their new show, Jersey Shore Family Vacation.

Though all the other cast members are coming back together, Sammi’s going to sit this one out.

“Everyone was invited to come on the show but Sammi was the only one who didn’t want to,” a source told Us Weekly.

“A big reason for that was because she didn’t want to be around Ronnie. She has been enjoying her life off of TV and didn’t want to change that.”

Jersey Shore is back!

It’s been five years since the extremely popular MTV show went off the air, but almost the entire gang is returning for a new show called Jersey Shore Family Vacation.

Who else is freaking out?!

In fact, Deena Cortese, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino are all returning for the show, which will premiere in 2018.

Though MTV has yet to explain why Sammi isn’t joining the cast, we have to imagine it has something to do with her previous relationship with Ronnie.

It’s still unclear whether this is a special, a limited series, or an actual series, but who cares because we’re getting the gang back together!

The show shared a short teaser trailer during an episode of Floribama Shore that had everybody freaking out.

“That’s it?!? It’s so short!” Snooki said in an Instagram post of the trailer.

“Gotta teach these young ones,” JWOWW said in another post.

“Hide yo wife, hide yo kids..Did someone say there’s a new #JerseyShore series coming out in 2018 on @mtv?!” Vinny wrote on Instagram.

“The people have spoken and We finna #MakeRealityTvGreatAgain . Can’t wait to be back on your tv screen wit my roomates!!!!! [sic]”

Fans on social media were clearly shook after the announcement.

“I AM SCREAMING OMFG the only good thing to happen to America this year tbh,” one person wrote.

Another said, “IM SO EXCITED IM GONNA VOMIT [sic].”
