We hope Jill and Derick Dillard’s son is OK!
The former Counting On star waited weeks before sharing a photo of her youngest son Samuel after his birth, but now we may know why.
Her husband shared photos in honor of his mother’s birthday over the weekend and one photo shows Samuel with tubes coming out of his nose.
Though the father of two did not confirm what happened to his son, many fans on social media began to speculate.
“That is a tube to suction fluid out of the lungs,” one fan assumed.
“When babies are born by C-section the fluid does not get pushed out by contractions.”
The person continued, “It is normal to have to get this out, not a complication. Happened with both my C-section babies.”
Another person wrote, “Omg poor Samuel, feeding tube and oxygen. Don’t think he was as healthy at birth as you said originally.”
Somebody else shared, “Doctors don't hook babies up to tubes if they are 9 pounds for the hell of it.
“There was obviously something wrong at birth for them to do that.”
The 26-year-old did undergo a C-section when she gave birth to Samuel back in July.
“After 40 hours of labor, he was delivered via C-section at the hospital,” the family said in a statement.
“Thank you for your continued prayers and support!”
She then shared her first photo of Sam on July 25.
“Meet #SamuelScottDillard This little handsome fella is getting bigger every day! We are so in love with him!” she wrote on Instagram.
We hope everything is OK with Sam!
