Jillian Harris Planning Her “Exit Strategy” From HGTV Post-Baby

For some people, work is their first love, but not Jillian Harris — not anymore, at least.

The former Bachelorette star is super busy balancing her busy career as an interior designer, blogger, and co-host of HGTV’s Love It or List It, Too, but that all might change soon.

The new mom, who gave birth to son Leo George in August 2016, is opening up to People for their Bachelor Baby Boom issue, detailing the terrible “mom guilt” she’s developed of late.

“I think that everybody gets mom guilt, and as females out there, I’m sure we’re all so hard on ourselves,” the former reality star admits.

She continues, “Should I work? How much should I work? Do I leave him with a nanny?”

The 37-year-old also shares a constant fear of what kind of negative energy she’s putting around her newborn.

“I know that he senses that energy and I think, for the most part, if I’ve ever had a bad day or frustrating day or if I’m sad, I feel like I’ve been strong for him so far,” she says.

Hey, it can’t be easy when you’re running around doing multiple jobs — including planning a wedding to fiancé and Leo’s dad, Justin Pasutto.

She recalls of the first time she left a then-3-month-old Leo with the nanny, “I sobbed — like, you know those cries where you can’t even breathe? — all the way to work, and I cried all day.”

That was the turning point for the rest of her life plan.

“It was a disaster. My heart broke, and that’s when I realized, Mama ain’t going to be doing this for long. Like, I’m planning my exit strategy. I want to be at home more,” she reveals.

That certainly sounds like her TV show might be ending in the near future!

Not that we can blame her — her baby boy is adorable and motherhood sounds like one of the most rewarding experiences.

“The other night … I was kind of lying there watching [Leo] while he was sleeping, and then he opened his eyes and just stared at me … and looked at me like, ‘I love you,’ ” she shares.

“I’m like, ‘This is why I’m a mom. This is the best,’” she adds. “Nothing ever will beat that feeling.”
