Jim Carrey’s Bizarre NYFW Red Carpet Rant Goes From Weird to Disturbing (VIDEO)

Funny man Jim Carrey caused quite a scene at this weekend's Harper’s Bazaar’s ICONS gala, but it wasn't exactly a laughfest.

The 55-year-old comedian left E! News's Catt Sadler and viewers baffled with his bizarre responses during her red carpet interview.

What seemed like it was going to be a fun, light chat quickly went sideways and poor Catt looked like she could barely understand what was happening.

After circling her, Jim responded to her remark about how unusual it is to see him at a New York Fashion Week event with, "I wanted to find the most meaningless thing I could come to and join and here I am."

The look on the 43-year-old anchor's face pretty much says it all, but hey, maybe the interview can be salvaged, right?

"They're celebrating icons inside," she said, "Do you believe in icons?"

Giving the camera an exasperated look, the Liar Liar star said, "Boy, that is just the absolute lowest aiming possibility that we could have come up with," he answered.

"Do you believe in icons?" he continued, asking Catt's question back to her.

"I don't believe in personalities. I don't believe that you exist but there is a wonderful fragrance in the air," he continued without waiting for her reply.

Oh, before you ask, no, that's not the weirdest part of this interaction.

When she asked about artists' ability to inspire others, saying Jim himself is an icon, he launched into a James Brown impression.

He followed that up by saying he believes "peace lies beyond personality, beyond invention and disguise, beyond the red 'S' that you wear on your chest that makes bullets bounce off."

After Jim further explained that he believes we're "a field of energy dancing for itself," what was left but to compliment the guy's outfit, right?

We gotta say the moment he says they're all just tetrahedrons clustering around was probably the best exit point for our fearless reporter.

But instead she asked him about current events.

“Here's the thing, it's not our world," he offered.

"So none of this is real? So you're just passing through," she replied.

"We don't matter. There's the good news," he says, patting her shoulders and continuing on his way.

The actor has been a bit off the grid lately, and has been through some stressful personal matters.
