John Mayer is ready to take on a new chapter, and with it he’s getting frank about how he treated the women in his life.

The singer took some time off to do a bit of self-discovery following his split from Katy Perry in 2013.

“I’m a young guy. I like girls. I want girls to like me. I want to make music and be thought of as attractive,” he told The New York Times.

"I was finally ready to reenter that world and grow back into it.”

The 39-year-old’s new album, The Search of Everything, is very inspired by the “Chained to the Rhythm” songstress.

In fact, she’s the muse behind his song “Still Feel Like Your Man.”

“Who else would I be thinking about? And by the way, it’s a testament to the fact that I have not dated a lot of people in the last five, six years,” he shared.

“That was my only relationship. So it’s like, give me this, people.”

It’s no secret the Grammy winner has dated his fair share of famous ladies — Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Minka Kelly, and Taylor Swift, to name a few — but he wanted his album to be more than breakup ballads.

"There were times when tears came out of me, and I went, OK, John, this is not about an on-again, off-again relationship. This is something more profound.”

Since breaking up with Katy, the “Your Body is a Wonderland” singer’s been looking for love on a dating app.

“It’s just a lot of chatter. We all talk to the same people. There are very few people actually meeting up.”

Though he’s excited about his upcoming tour, the crooner wishes he had a family to join him on the road.

“I wish there was somebody to throw me the 40th. I want the baby with the protective earphones [by the side of the stage],” he revealed.

“I want to say, ‘We’ll take it [a home].’ … I’m right on time for my career, and I’m running late for my life."
