‘Bachelor’ Producer Fires Back at Kaitlyn Bristowe For ‘DWTS’ Ban Claims (UPDATE)
UPDATE (3/1/2017 at 10:30 a.m. ET):
On February 28, one day after the former Bachelorette called him out for allegedly blocking her from doing Dancing With the Stars, Mike posted a series of shade-filled tweets directed at her and others accusing him of sexism.
First, he took aim at Kaitlyn incorrectly spelling his name as “Mike Fliess” on the social media outlet.
”When you can't spell someone's name correctly, that usually doesn't help,” he writes.

“Melissa R has a mirror ball. So quickly they forget!” he adds, referring to DWTS alum and Bachelor 13 winner, Melissa Rycroft.

That’s when first Bachelorette Trista Sutter chimes in.
The Season 1 star points out she also participated in an early season of the show, joking that it was before “most people on Twitter were born.”
Still, as many indicate in the comments, Melissa was not a Bachelorette and Trista was way back in 2005, meaning it’s been 12 years since a female lead got the gig.
Meanwhile, Kait wasn’t done taking her former boss to task.
The 31-year-old got back in on the subtweeting later in the night, poking fun at the executive producer’s overuse of the word “historic” of late.
“Just had a historical spin class. That's how you use that word right?” she quips.

Original story (2/27/2017 at 6 p.m. ET):
In fact, the Bachelorette 2015 star seems pretty livid that her ex is getting the gig — but not for the reasons you might think.
Kaitlyn’s anger is mostly directed at Bachelor showrunner Mike Fleiss, and it all has to do with the DWTS offer she received two years ago.
It all started on Twitter earlier today, when Kait’s friend (and Bachelor 2015 winner) Whitney Bischoff reacted to the Nick buzz.
She tweeted, “Why does a bachelorette never get this gig @BachelorABC?!? I wanted to see @kaitlynbristowe shake her tail feather!”
That spurred her Bachelorette pal to drop a major behind the scenes truth bomb.
“Actually I was offered it, had the contract,” the former dance teacher responds. “Mike Fliess [sic] told me I wasn't allowed. He said he didnt[sic] want people wanting fame after his show.”

Whoa! So why would things change with four-time franchise star Nick?
Prior to that reveal, Kait alluded to the casting, writing, “What a f*cking joke.”

She also warned something might be coming in another tweet.
“Someone stop me from going on a twitter rant right now,” she added later.

The post from Shawn Booth’s fiancée got many of her followers talking in the comments, pointing out the potential sexist implications of Mike Fleiss’s choice.
In 21 previous seasons of Bachelor and 12 seasons of Bachelorette, the only stars allowed onto DWTS were four male Bachelors — Nick, Chris Soules, Sean Lowe, and Jake Pavelka — the first Bachelorette, Trista Sutter, and one female contestant, Melissa Rycroft.
That has many wondering why it’s OK for male alums to seek “fame after the show,” but not for females to pursue similar opportunities.
Your move Bach producers!
