Kat Graham Is Leaving ‘The Vampire Diaries’ After Season 8

Mystic Falls just won’t be the same.

Kat Graham confirms she’s leaving The Vampire Diaries after Season 8, breaking our hearts as we realize the show might have to go on without Bonnie Bennett.

“Season 8 will be my last season,” the 26-year-old tells Us Weekly. “But you know what, another season is a whole other year, and we’re going to blow it out.”

When it comes to what the “1991” singer will miss most about her time on the CW series, it’s surprisingly not the cast or playing one of our favorite TV witches. It’s actually the crew.

While we’re heartbroken about this departure — after all, the All Eyez on Me star has been on the show since the 2009 pilot — it makes us question what the Powers That Be will do with Nina Dobrev’s role since Elena Gilbert’s life is magically tied to Bonnie.

For the time being, there’s still plenty left to explore with the magical badass chick and, should the show continue on beyond Season 8, we have until next spring to say farewell.

“There’s some really intense stuff with my character this season,” the triple threat continued. “I think the biggest episodes I’ve ever had are 20 and 21 [of Season 7]. It’s pretty major for the character — huge turns, a lot of stunts and cool s—t!”

The Vampire Diaries Season 7 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
