UPDATE (5/24/17 at 9:48 a.m. ET):
Katy Perry is ready to bury the hatchet.
The pop star discussed her feud with Taylor Swift on SiriusXM Morning Mash Up on Tuesday, May 23 and revealed she’s tried to smooth things over with the “Shake It Off” singer.
"I did try and reach out to her. I tried to do the right thing, the good thing, and, you know, she shut me down and wrote a song,” she shared.
And, when asked if she’d answer the 27-year-old’s FaceTime call, the “Teenage Dream” singer said, "Absolutely. By the way, I am ready because I think when women unite, the world is going to heal."

Original Story (5/23/17 at 1:11 p.m. ET):
On Monday’s Late Late Show Primetime Special Carpool Karaoke segment, the singer opened up about their beef after the host asked about the meaning behind her new song, “Swish Swish.”
"There's a situation. Honestly, it's really like she started it, and it's time for her to finish it,” the 32-year-old said.
Of course the “Teenage Dream” songstress is alluding to Taylor’s song “Bad Blood,” which was reportedly about their ongoing feud.
In fact, the “California Girls” hitmaker even explained how their feud got started.
“Okay, so there are three backing dancers that went on tour with her tour, right? And they asked me before they went on tour if they could go, and I was like, ‘Yeah, of course.’
“‘But I will be on a record cycle probably in about a year. So be sure to put a 30-day contingency in your contract so you can get out if you want to join me when I say I’m going back on,’” she continued.
“So that year came up, right? And I texted all of them because I’m very close with them and I said, ‘Look, just FYI, I’m about to start. I want to put the word out there. And they said, ‘Okay, we’re going to go and talk to management about it.’ And they did, and they got fired.”
Orlando Bloom’s former flame tried to patch things up with Tay, but she apparently wasn’t interested.
"I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn't speak to me. I do the right thing any time that it feels like a fumble," she continued.
"It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me, and I'm like, OK, cool, cool, cool, that's how you want to deal with it? Karma!"
Though the new American Idol judge is clearly frustrated with the “Shake It Off” singer, she’s ready to call the feud off once and for all.
"But what I want to say is that I'm ready for that BS to be done,” she revealed.
“It's all about karma, right? I think personally that women together, not divided, and none of this petty bulls—t, women together will heal the world."
