‘MBC’ Star Kendra Wilkinson on Her Mother: “I’m Blamed For Being Alive” (VIDEO)
Will Kendra Wilkinson Baskett and her mother ever be able to repair their relationship?
In a clip from Friday’s episode of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars — Family Edition, the reality star and Patti Wilkinson attempt to work through their serious issues.
"She lacks empathy with me,” the mother of two says before adding, “I believe I am a narcissist. I come from a narcissistic family.”
Needless to say, the Girl Next Door’s mother doesn’t take the criticism very well.
“How could I be a narcissist when my world revolved around you and Collin?” she asks her daughter.
Then, the 31-year-old drops the mother of all bombs — pun intended! — saying, “I feel like I’m blamed for being alive.”
“That’s a little dramatic. I was working full-time. I got home, I had to cook dinner, I had to get you ready for bed, do your homework,” Patti says back.
Needless to say, the blonde beauty still feels resentment from her childhood.
“I believe I am blamed today for all of that,” Kendra reveals.
And, according to Dr. V and Dr. Ish, Kendra’s mother needs to change her perspective in order to repair their mother-daughter relationship.
“Patti, stop being a martyr,” Dr. V says.
“You’ve got to start taking your share of the blame, otherwise you have no hope of repairing this relationship with Kendra,” Dr. Ish adds.
The decision to do a reality show with her mother wasn’t easy for Kendra, especially since she had moved on from their tumultuous relationship.
"I closed the door and I said I will never open it up again and I was healed and what's crazy is that I learned how to move on in my life and form my own definition of what family is around me and I started believing it and I started creating my own family," she told E! News.
"Next thing you know, here we are facing each other at family boot camp, something I said I would never do again. She said the same thing and here we are."
