Lace Morris Leaves ‘Bachelor’ 2016: “I Have a Lot of Work to Do on Myself”
Yes, really. And it was probably one of the most rational (and sane) moves she’s made since walking through the Bachelor Mansion doors on Ben Higgins’s Season 20!
When Lace pulled Ben aside right before the rose ceremony, we expected her to pull out some of her signature nutty rants. Instead, she told him she was leaving.
“I think you’re amazing,” she began, starting to sob. “I’m mad at myself for the way I’ve acted since I’ve been here. This has been really rough for me.”
As Ben looked on concerned, the Denver gal continued, “I have a lot of work to do on myself. I want to be able to offer you more.”
Well, if that isn’t one of the most mature, self-aware thing we’ve heard on the show so far! And she wasn’t done.
“I just feel like going home might be easier and just continuing working on myself and trying to better myself,” she concluded. “You can’t love someone else until you truly love yourself and I don’t know if I truly love myself just yet.”
To his credit, the Bachelor was great at letting Lace speak her mind in this moment, and she was really able to get her point across. This was a welcome exchange after the chaos with Olivia Caridi and Jubilee Sharpe earlier in the evening.
Plus, it was great to see the 25-year-old beauty on Bachelor Live after, talking about the therapy and self-exploration she’s done since leaving the show last fall.
Keep up the good work, Lace!
