Lamar Odom’s Kidneys Are Failing, May Need a Transplant — Report

Lamar Odom was finally released from Sunshine Hospital after his health scare, but sadly the former basketball player isn’t completely out of the woods yet.

It looks like Khloe Kardashian’s estranged husband may need a kidney transplant ASAP.

Many of Lamar’s organs — including his heart — were failing last week, but have mostly returned to their proper functions. The only one that hasn’t are his kidneys, says TMZ, so now the former Los Angeles Lakers player is hooked up to a dialysis machine for six hours a day.

While the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center treatments are currently working on the dad of two’s failing kidneys, “the end game may well be” an entirely new set of organs.

The move from L.V. to L.A. was mostly to help Lamar get the best care possible, not to signal a full physical recovery. His condition has definitely gotten better — especially considering he was foaming at the mouth and spewing blood when found unconscious — but tests still need to be run on his brain.

Specialists at the West Coast medical center want to “determine the extent of damage the strokes” had on the NBA champ.

We’ll keep our fingers crossed the damage turns out to be as minimal as possible.
