Louis Tomlinson has lost his mother Johannah Poulston.

The former One Direction singer is devastated after his beloved mom died on Wednesday, December 7, at the young age of 42.

Johannah had fought a long battle against leukemia, which she was diagnosed with earlier this year.

Louis's stepfather Dan Deakin confirmed the sad news, saying in a statement, “It is with immeasurable sadness that Johannah Deakin’s family said goodbye to Johannah in the early hours of Wednesday, December 7, 2016.

“Johannah was first and foremost a truly amazing mother to seven children whose individual talents and success are testament to the principles and beliefs she instilled in them.”

The family’s announcement comes just a few days before Louis, 24, will perform on the Saturday, December 10, U.K. X Factor finale for one very important reason.

The mom of seven’s dying wish was apparently to know her son would return to the reality show that made him famous.

The pop star’s latest Instagram photo proves he would do anything to make his mother happy after her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

Louis shared a moving tribute to his beautiful mom on Wednesday, November 18, weeks before her death.

“My mother looking gorgeous before the Brits earlier this year,” the “Perfect” singer  captioned the photo. “I love you and miss you so much !”

The grieving musician isn’t the only person in the One Direction universe dealing with Johannah’s death on social media.

Liam Payne’s pregnant girlfriend Cheryl sent Louis an emotional message on Twitter.

“@Louis_Tomlinson my heart breaks for you. I am so sorry,” the former X Factor judge wrote.

“My thoughts are with you and your loved ones at this incredibly tragic time.”
