Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta has had quite a bit of new blood this season, including Kirk Frost’s side chick Jasmine Washington and Fetty Wap’s ex, Alexis Sky.

Another new face will be making her controversial debut this week, as Lovely Mimi will make her loud and “ratchet” presence known on the series ASAP.

Miyha “Lovely Mimi” Thi Luong is a Vietnamese-American nail salon owner who uprooted from Maryland to Atlanta to join Love & Hip Hop’s southern franchise.

The Instagram star with over 1.2 million followers will be the first Asian-American to regularly feature on the series, according to AJC.com.

When initially asked to join the show, she, like many, declined. After negotiating a fair deal, however, she began singing a different tune.

“It took me a long time to accept the deal because it’s drama. It breaks up families. It makes you look bad. There’s all types of crazy stuff I didn’t know what I was getting into. Then I realized it’s what I’m going to make out of it. Let’s give it a try!”

She also admits that joining L&HH is like “living a double life. I have my story land life and my real life.”

The only cast member the manicurist knew before the series was Tommie, saying their common history of growing up in group homes and detention centers bonded them.

“She’s [Tommie] not that bougie like a lot of the other women. We share a lot a similar background with that juvie lifestyle. I was never in high school or even middle school.”

One criticism the Maryland native has received is her habit of “acting black,” an accusation L&HH previews indicate she’ll have to face during the series as well.

When asked about being called the “ratchet Asian girl” on the show, the wife and mom doesn’t mind, saying she makes light of it and doesn’t take the criticism seriously.

“I didn’t mind being called ratchet. I talk a lot about different stereotypes. I run with it. I make jokes about it.”
