Matt Lauer Divorce is “Imminent” After Sexual Harassment Scandal and Firing — Report
We know Matt Lauer is officially out at NBC, but we don't know much about the state of his marriage.
The sexual harassment allegations made against the longtime Today Show host cost him his job at the network, but did they cost him his wife, too?
The 59-year-old got fired late last month after various women came forward with sexual assault allegations against him.
And now, a source insists Matt's wife of almost two decades, Annette Roque, is done, and plans to file divorce papers after the holidays.
"She’s furious with Matt for leaving this legacy for their kids [son Jack, 16, daughter Romy, 14, and son Thijs, 11],” an insider tells Life & Style.
“Matt let her down, yes, but their children [having to deal with it] — that is what makes her especially angry.”
“She’s told a small circle of friends and relatives that she feels completely betrayed," the source continued.
Reports circulated last week that the fomer model fled the country and went to Holland, where she's from, with the couple's two youngest kids.
But now that they're getting some time apart, Matt really wants to make it work for the sake of the kids.
A source tells People the TV vet "is fighting to save the marriage. He doesn’t want a divorce. Both of them, their first thought is their children.”
Plus, they're also reportedly still living together, though no longer wearing their wedding rings.
If Matt and Annette do end up splitting, this would be their second time filing for divorce.
In 2006, the leggy brunette accused her husband of “cruel and inhumane” treatment and "extreme anger and hostility" in legal documents.
She rescineded the paperwork just three weeks later.
