Michelle Fairley Is Coming Back to Your TV — No, Not as Who You Want
It looks like we’re going to have to get used to the idea of Lady Stoneheart never appearing on Game of Thrones. First there was her no-show in the Season 4 finale after being heavily rumored to appear, then director Alex Graves claiming she was cut from the show, and finally actress Michelle Fairley herself seemed to confirm she would not be returning to the show in the role. And now, news comes that Michelle has signed on to another TV show entirely.
Michelle will have an arc on season 2 of the ABC drama, Resurrection as, get this, “the formidable matriarch of the Langston clan … dead for over three decades, she will reappear in Arcadia as one of the returned ... Her return will have consequences for the entire family.” That’s right, she plays the matriarch of a powerful family who comes back from the dead and messes stuff up. Is Michelle trolling all of us?
Don’t get us wrong, we’re super glad that Michelle is getting work. She’s a terrific actress and seems like an overall good person, but throw us a bone here! This role is so close to Lady Stoneheart it almost seems like GoT could just borrow some of the new footage and insert it into a Season 5 episode. Actually, that’s not a bad idea. Anyone know the contact info for David Benioff and Dan Weiss?
