Why Miley Cyrus Decided to Quit Smoking Marijuana

Miley Cyrus is sober!

The former Disney Channel star is opening up about her decision to quit smoking marijuana, and she's looking happier than ever.

In an interview with SiriusXM on Friday, May 12, the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker dished on how her life has changed since going weed-free.

"Look at my eyes, look at how white they are," the 24-year-old joked.

"They're clear and open and I can see and all that."

The former cannabis enthusiast first opened up about her decision to go sober in a Billboad magazine profile, where she also revealed she quit drinking.

"I haven't smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I've ever [gone without it]," she told the magazine.

In the SiriusXM interview, the "Malibu" singer updated the hosts on her weed-free journey. Since Billboard's profile, Miley has been clean for a whopping 10 weeks.

Unlike most people who try to shake off bad habits cold turkey, the "We Can't Stop" singer admitted that her transition to sobriety has been fairly easy.

"A lot of people have reached out to me and they're like, 'You know, if you want help or if you want to go to these meetings,' she said.

"And I'm like, 'No, when I want something, I can do it."

"Anything that I want to do, if I want to stop or start something, I can do anything," she continued.

"I just decided not to [smoke] anymore and now it's easy for me."

However, the musician did admit that it has been weird hanging out with friends who smoke recreationally. Though she no longer smokes, the pop star revealed that she still rolls joints for her buds.

"It's very weird," she said.

"I've got a lot of energy. I've always had a lot of energy. I'm a very obsessive person, which I need to work on, but also it helps in my position to be a little obsessive because then I can really get things done and make sure it's perfect."

Miley also has the support of her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, who opened up recently to Entertainment Tonight about his daughter's sobriety.

"I see a joy in her spirit and something coming from within that is just pure beauty," he said.

"Sometimes you just have to clear out the junk."
