Miley Cyrus Opens Up About Reconciling With Liam Hemsworth and Giving Up Weed
Miley Cyrus is getting her priorities straight.
From her days on Hannah Montana to her viral twerking performances, the singer has already had quite a career in showbusiness, but she’s not stopping anytime soon.
In fact, the 24-year-old has decided to change things up and create a better life for herself, which means giving up marijuana.
"This is crazy, but I haven't smoked weed in three weeks!" she tells Billboard.
"I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open. I was noticing, it's not the people that are stoned. I want to be super clear and sharp, because I know exactly where I want to be."
The former Disney star is working on a new album and is set to release her first single, “Malibu,” next week. The song is about her current relationship with on-again-off-again fiancé, Liam Hemsworth.
"They're going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, 'This is how I feel?'"
The pair met on the set of The Last Song in 2009 and got engaged in June 2012, but ended things in September 2013.
The blonde beauty says their breakup stemmed from the fact she needed to change and grow without The Hunger Games star by her side.
“I needed to change so much. And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard," she continues.
"Suddenly you're like, 'I don't recognize you anymore.' We had to re-fall for each other."
Though she’s known for acting wild and crazy, Miley’s perfectly content living a sober life at the moment.
“I'm not doing drugs, I'm not drinking, I'm completely clean right now! That was just something that I wanted to do," she reveals.
"It's easy...When I want something, it's f—king easy for me. But if anyone told me not to smoke, I would have not done it. It's because it was on my time."
