Naya Rivera Opens Up About Lea Michele Feud in New Memoir
Naya Rivera picked the perfect tile for her recent memoir, ‘Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, And Growing Up.”
"We are both strong-willed and competitive … When two people with strong personalities are friends, they're eventually going to clash. And maybe they'll get over it; maybe they won't. Lea and I didn't," she writes.
“I don't hate Lea, and I never have."
The 29-year-old actress explains that the two had a friendship, but it quickly soured as new seasons of Glee continued.
"I think Rachel — erm, I mean Lea — didn't like sharing the spotlight," she reveals in the memoir.
"Sometimes it seemed like she [Lea] blamed me for ... everything that went wrong. "If I'd complained … she assumed I was bitching about her. She started to ignore me ... to the point where she didn't say a word to me for all of season six."
Despite the ongoing “clash,” the Devious Maids star did have some nice things to say about Lea’s previous relationship with actor and Glee co-star, Cory Monteith.
"My personal feelings for Lea aside, I felt like ... their relationship could actually be good for him. I was happy for Cory to have a stable influence in his life, wherever it was he found it."
Sorry Not Sorry isn’t all about Lea Michele though, as Naya also opened up about her previous lovers in the book, including former flame Mark Salling.
After hearing the actor was cheating on her, the actress-turned-singer "bought dog food, Coca-Cola, eggs and bird seed and dumped all that s—t all over his car."
The former child star touched on the 34-year-old actor’s recent legal troubles — he was accused of child pornography charges in June — saying, "[I] can't say I was totally shocked."
Just as Josh Murray has commented on Andi Dorfman’s memoir, it’ll be interesting to see what Lea Michele — and others — have to say about Naya’s claims!
