Man Who Allegedly Shot Nick Lachey’s Bar Employee Turns Himself In (UPDATE)

UPDATE (12/8/17 at 10:31 a.m. ET):

The man who reportedly shot Nick Lachey’s bar employee in the face turned himself in on Thursday, December 7.

The Cincinnati Police Department released a photo of Lavoris Hightower, saying he was the suspect in the shooting.

The 36-year-old was indicted for “attempted murder, felonious assault, weapons under disability and tampering with evidence.”

“My client is not guilty of the offense,” his attorney Clyde Bennett II said in a statement.

“My client says he was not there at the time of the shooting and there has not been any evidence to support that he is guilty.”

Original story (11/28/17 at 12:10 p.m. ET):

Nick Lachey is getting in the holiday spirit as he tours with his band, 98 Degrees, but a personal tragedy has interfered with his holly, jolly Christmas.

A female employee at Nick's Cincinatti bar has been shot in the face, and the singer is seeking justice.

In addition to being a dad of three, a boy bander, and a host, among other things, Nick and his brother (and bandmate) Drew own Lachey's, a sports bar in their hometown of Cincinatti.

But tragedy has struck the establishment, as Elizabeth Richardson, the bar's manager, got shot in the face on Thanksgiving night, one of the busiest bar nights of the year.

The 27-year-old was shot by an African American suspect around 3 a.m. on November 23 as she was leaving the venue, according to WLWT Cincinatti.

She remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Local cops are still investigating the incident, but believe Ellie "walked across the street and a man in a van yelled obscenities at her. Officers believe Richardson walked toward the van to talk with him about it, and he shot her."

The Dancing With The Stars alum tweeted about the incident, seeking "justice" for Ellie, and also linked out to a fundraiser to help her and her family get through this "most difficult time."

Little bro Drew also took a break from the 98 Degrees tour to share a link to the fundraiser with his fans:

According to the YouCaring page, which has already raised over $48K as of Tuesday, the money will "go toward [Ellie's] medical expenses and help support her and her family until she's back on her feet."
