Nick Viall’s Apologizes to Andi Dorfman 3 Years Later — Do You Forgive Him? (POLL)
Time heals all wounds — but sometimes an apology can help, too!
“Last time you knocked on my door, surprisingly, you broke up with me. You dumped me on national television,” Nick quipped.
It was all in good fun, though, as the two continued to relate more now that the shoe is on the other foot.
“Fantasy Suites, you’re finally going to be alone,” the It’s Not Okay author noted. “Let me ask you this, are you going to have sex with any of them?”
“I don’t know, I’m honestly torn,” the 36-year-old answered honestly. “As a man, I’m physically attracted to all of them. I think it would be amazing. But I really want this to work.”
That spurred her to share her own advice “having been there and done that” — oddly enough, with him.
It was then interesting to see the former lawyer tell her ex he’s “entitled” to get intimate with any of the three women remaining on his season — Raven Gates, Vanessa Grimaldi, and Rachel Lindsay — as long as he sees a potential future with them.
“You’re an adult I think you have every right to get as intimate as you want in each relationship,” she continued, clearly hinting a bit at some of the backlash she received for sleeping with both Nick and Josh Murray on Bachelorette.
That perfectly segued into the question we’d all been waiting for her to ask.
“Do you look back and you’re like, damn, I shouldn’t have said, ‘Why would you make love with me if you weren’t in love with me?’” she asked of the now-famous After the Final Rose moment where the Wisconsin hunk revealed they’d slept together.
Clearly taken aback, he replied, stuttering that he’s long been aware it was “probably not the best move.”
What came next was nice to see, however, as Nick gave an apology years in the making.
“I do want you to know that my single biggest regret, when it comes to you and I, when I said what I said, that it brought you a lot of heartache and a lot of pain,” he started.
“It’s something you had to deal with for a long time, and I’ve always felt bad about that. And I’ve always cared about you, and I still want you to be happy. For that, I’ve always been sorry.”
Pretty positive! The 29-year-old accepted the apology with, “Well, thank you for saying that.”
She even admitted to her own part in the situation, reasoning, “I know that I hurt you, and in return, you kind of hurt me back. We’ve both done our damage, but don’t let that keep you from anything now.”
All in all, this was a really mature and warm conversation between two people who once (probably) hated on another. What a difference a few years make!
“I’m just glad that Andi and I are both able to put our past behind us and look towards the future,” Nick told the cameras, as we watched them hug and her wish him “good luck.”
