Normani Kordei Reacts to Ariana Grande’s Concert Attack Following ‘DWTS’ Performance
Though she was focused on the Dancing With the Stars finale, Normani Kordei’s thoughts were with the victims of the bombing that killed 22 people outside Ariana Grande’s concert on Monday, May 22.
In fact, the Fifth Harmony singer was visibly shaken up following Monday night’s episode of DWTS, according to Hollywood Life.
“She refused to do all of the carpet as she was very upset over the news of the bombing,” a source said.
“She didn’t want to talk about it at all because it involved her friend Ariana Grande. No tears, but she was visibly upset,” the source continued.
“She mentioned to Val (Chmerkovskiy) that you can’t control these things and she felt bad for everyone involved and was very sad.”
The suicide bombing — which took place in the lobby of the “Side to Side” hitmaker’s concert in Manchester, England — also injured another 59 concert-goers.
"It's very scary because it's super unpredictable," she shared.
“People go to concerts to have a good time, [and] music does bring people together, [so] it's really unfortunate and sad. I'm praying for all those that were lost and their families.”
The 20-year-old also spoke out against the horrific tragedy on her Instagram page.
“While I am incredibly grateful for the turnout of our performance on @dancingabc tonight, the news about the horrific acts in Manchester are sobering and heartbreaking,” she captioned the photo.
“Praying for the families and loved ones of those affected, and praying that through LOVE, we can overcome this. What the world needs now, is peace, unity, and LOVE.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by Monday night’s bombing.
Dancing With the Stars Season 24 finale airs Tuesday, May 23 at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
