One Direction Going On “Extended Hiatus” After March 2016 — Report
Although One Direction promised nobody could drag them down, it looks like the fab now-foursome will be taking a very lengthy break from each other. As have so many boybands before them, reports say 1D is going to take an “extended hiatus” next year.
The pause in the band’s schedule will reportedly start sometime during March 2016 and continue for at least a year.
As all *NSYNC fans know, “hiatus” is just a filmsy euphemism for “heart-shattering breakup,” right? Well, not so fast, Directioners. "They are taking a hiatus so they can work on individual projects for a while but they are not splitting up," a source told E! News. "They will remain together and plan to work together in the future."
Hopefully, “the future” doesn’t mean a three-second performance during the MTV Video Music Awards in about two decades, like some people. Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan will reportedly “pursue their [own] endeavors” during the break, which makes sense.
Louis will be a very busy new dad by then, and we’re sure Niall will want to finally grow out his brown locks after over five years of bleach (yes, he’s really and truly a brunette). Liam's already eating separately. He was spotted getting a bite at Chicago’s Sunda New Asian on Saturday with six other pals, and not one of them was a 1D member.
But despite his solo snack, the E! source said, "They are great friends and fully support one another. They are very aware that they are able to work on their own stuff as well as remain together.”
We’re holding them to it (and hey — maybe Zayn will come back by then)!
