‘Bachelorette’ 2017’s Peter Kraus Reacts to His Fame-Thirsty High School Days (UPDATE)
UPDATE (6/16/2017 at 3:10 p.m. ET):
Somehow, Peter Kraus just managed to come off incredibly charming while talking about something negative.
Just days after the press uncovered the Wisconsin hunk’s old yearbook — which lists his high school ambition as gaining “fame” and being on Bachelor — he addressed the bio on Instagram.
“#TBT to what has got to be one of the most fantastic year book blurbs I've ever seen,” he starts in the caption.
He adds, “So ridiculous even I had to check its authenticity!”
Peter then offers a (pretty funny) take on the whole “famous” thing.
He quips, “Well... when I set my mind to something at 17... apparently I really stick to it.
“I'm just glad no one noticed the real atrocity here... the impeccable fashion sense.”
The self-deprecation only continues in the ensuing hashtags, which include references to his intense buzz cut and high-collar shirt, which he calls “fire.”
Now that’s the way to handle backlash!
He’s totally back on our good side. After all, a sense of humor goes a long way.

Original story (6/13/2017 at 1:00 p.m. ET):
One of the guys at the top of our list has been Midwestern hunk Peter Kraus, whose incredible good looks and sweet demeanor made him stand out from night one.
But should we be less trusting of this Season 13 frontrunner?
Not only that, but he volunteers for the Make-A-Wish Foundation! Talk about the “right reasons” — though Peter’s high school self seems to have been on a very different page.
TMZ has managed to track down his 2005 senior yearbook at Edgewood High in Madison, where the then 19-year-old looked very different than he does now.
Before we get to the photo, let us warn you: The now-polished gentleman opted at the time for a buzz cut, goatee, stud earrings, and a high-neck chain collar.
A far cry from the man we see on our TV screens every Monday!
That being said, we all made fashion choices we regret in our teen years — but it’s his yearbook bio that’s the real kicker.
The four-year footballer is asked to list his future plans, and it seems he had his eyes on the Hollywood lights — and the Bachelor franchise itself!
“Go to art school,” it starts strongly. Yes, sir!
It continues, “Become famous in one way or another, be on The Bachelor, live happily."
Pretty crazy he’s been wanting to be on the show for 12 years now, right? Hey, at least he accomplished that.
As for the “famous” part, he’s certainly getting there the longer he remains on this season — and we don’t see him leaving anytime soon.
We’d like to write this off to some adolescent naivety, but if Rachel picks Peter at the end, there may be some serious questions about motivation.
Then again, if she doesn’t pick him, he’ll be one step closer to achieving his former goal of being the Bachelor!
If you ask us, he’s got a good shot.
The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
