What Your Favorite ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Stars Are Doing After The Show Ends
Ever since Marlene King announced that Season 7 would be the last, we’ve been super emotional about saying farewell to the Pretty Little Liars cast. Then, when our favorite stars from the show said goodbye themselves, there weren’t enough tissues in the world for our tears.
But, don’t worry: This may be so long to PLL, but it’s definitely not goodbye to everyone involved.
Our fictional BFFs (and some of our fictional villains) have already started making plans for their careers beyond the show. Check out how you can see the stars when Pretty Little Liars is over come April.
Don't worry, Lucy Hale won't be leaving our TV screens for long. The CW has ordered a pilot of Lucy-starring Life Sentence, a dramedy show about a girl who thinks she has terminal cancer, but then her diagnosis is reversed. Now, she has to live with the consequences of all the things she did when she thought she was leaving this earth.
And while we may miss Aria’s wild wardrobe, we won’t have to miss Lucy Hale’s style. Lucy has already signaled that she has some designing days ahead of her with her new collection of tech accessories for Casetify. Of course, Aria’s signature leopard print makes a cameo (as does Lucy's adorable dog Elvis).
The 27-year-old also stars in the upcoming indie movie with big buzz, Dude, alongside Austin Butler and Alexandra Shipp.
Of course, Lucy is still working on her country music career, which she says is her true “passion.” Don’t be surprised to see more music drop from Lucy now that she has more time post-Pretty Little Liars.
Troian Bellisario has always been working tirelessly on her indie passion projects — such as the gender-bent Romeo and Juliet — even while acting as Spencer Hastings. Now, she’ll have more time to explore these ventures.
Next, Troian will appear in her first feature-length film, Feed, alongside Draco Malfoy himself, Tom Felton. The 31-year-old financed the project and wrote the screenplay herself — go Troian!
Also, now that Pretty Little Liars has wrapped, Troian will finally have a hot minute to marry the love of her life, Patrick J. Adams.
Shay Mitchell won't be gone from our screens for long. The actress is turning to reality TV in her new show Shades of Shay, which will follow her career and personal life in the aftermath of Pretty Little Liars. And cross your fingers for some of her Liar pals to cameo!
The eight-episode season will premiere this year on Fullscreen's video subscription service.
But don’t expect her to stay in one lane. As she tells Self, she knows celebs these days have to be “multi-hyphenated.”
While has been rocking in movies, music videos, and more, she has said that her passion is modeling, so expect to see the former-Emily in many more photo shoots after Pretty Little Liars.
The 29-year-old will continue running her super popular YouTube channel and her Instagram feed to build the Shay Mitchell brand, which has already included a YA novel and a line of athleisure fashion.
“The message I’m trying to put out there is that you can do whatever you want to do, and if I’m going to say that, I need to do it myself,” Shay tells Self.
“If I want to become a singer and drop a single next month, I’m going to do that.”
She also says that some of the things on her to-do list are an action movie franchise, producing TV, and write another book. But first, she’ll star in the thriller Cadaver, as a former cop and recovering addict.
Ashley has been working in Hollywood for more than a decade, so it’s not a surprise her big plans post-Pretty Little Liars involve taking a much-needed break.
“Like working out, going back into ballet again, taking up photography and that kind of thing,” Ashley told E! News.
“Just kind of rest my brain for a couple of months and then get back into the whole industry aspect of it all.”
We look forward to your return to our screens, Ashley!
The infamous Alison DiLaurentis herself has probably been acting and working in Hollywood the longest, since she was 6 years old. And she surely has bright days ahead.
Next up for Sasha Pieterse is Coin Heist, a move that mixes The Breakfast Club with an old-school heist movie.
Just like Troian, Sasha is planning a wedding, too. Sasha and her fiancé Hudson Sheaffer have already set a date: May 27, 2017.
Our invites should be coming in the mail soon, right?
Janel Parrish is a busy woman. And just like Mona, it seems she can do everything.
Immediately after PLL wrapped, Janel announced that she would take on the lead role in A Walk to Remember: The Musical. She also has two movies set to hit theatres this year and next, so far: Until We Meet Again and Tiger, the latter starring opposite Mickey Rourke.
Plus, Janel has already launched her singing career, and now she may have even more time to keep dropping singles for us.
Tyler has a movie called Hello Again currently in post-production that sounds super interesting: “Ten lost souls slip in and out of one another's arms in a daisy-chained musical exploration of love's bittersweet embrace.”
Tyler plays one of those lost souls alongside Glee’s Jenna Ushkowitz, Martha Plimpton, Rumer Willis, Grey’s Anatomy’s T.R. Knight, and more.
Ian Harding already showed us he’s more like his character Ezra Fitz than we knew by releasing his book Odd Birds, so maybe there’s more writing in his future?
What we do know is he has at least two movie projects already in the works after the PLL wrap, plus another TV show.
Ian also recently joined the cast of Thin Ice, Fox's new comedy from New Girl creator Liz Meriweather. The show centers on a woman who takes a new job in Antarctica, and Ian will play "Andrew, the Antarctica-based research team’s station manager who’s trying his best to adjust to his new gig after his stint on Wall Street failed," according to TVLine.
It seems Keegan Allen is always up to something, and that won’t stop after the finale of Pretty Little Liars.
Coming off his just-released, super buzz-worthy and risque movie King Cobra, opposite James Franco, Keegan is set to appear in Actors Anonymous, a film based off Franco’s novel of the same name.
Keegan’s TV movie A Moving Romance is also in post-production, meaning we should see it soon.
Pretty Little Liars returns in April 2017 to Freeform.
